Cooking so far has been a journey for me which changed pace and form as my relationships evolved.
Started off as a rebellious daughter on days when her preferred choice wasn’t on the menu (Of course at that time it was a small something like french fries with cheese). I moved on to cooking for my husband (very averse to trying something new), this was just about playing with the same ingredients. Then the mammoth task of cooking for two daughters whose only demand ” mom please make something interesting “.. Slowly cooking for me became a passion rather than a daily job of a homemaker.
So as the kids grew up and I had some spare time I did a small stint with catering for about 5 years until I wanted more “ME” time to pursue other things. I can say that cooking is my second love – the first being canvas painting. And with painting I also tried my hand at poetry (in Gujarati) which has now become a part of life and an inspiration for many of my paintings.
Why this blog? Well, the idea of noting down my recipes was given by my elder one who keeps joking as to what will she do if I am not there 😉 .. And then I thought let’s convert the diary into a blog.. !
Hope you’ll enjoy the blog and be inspired to cook for your loved ones.
Your feedback will be most appreciated.
Love
Darshana
